OBA Provincial Band Festival

The Senior Wind Ensemble competed at the Ontario Band Association's "Provincial Band Festival" on Tuesday, February 11th at the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto. The band performed extremely well and received a Gold Award from the adjudicators, which is the festival's highest honour.

Later that week, the ensemble also received an Overall Outstanding Performance Award and a Best Brass Award.

Congratulations to the 95-member Senior Wind Ensemble on a successful OBA.

The Grade 9 Concert Band was unfortunately unable to participate in-person in the festival this year due to the System Wide shut down / Snow Day on Thursday, February 13th. The band submitted their performance to the festival virtually, and were awarded a Gold Award, a Woodwind Excellence Award, and an invitation to the National Finals. Bur Oak Music thanks the Ontario Band Association, Jessica Puskar, and Mark Caswell for allowing the Concert Band to participate in the festival and receive valuable feedback.
