OMFA 2024 Results

The Ontario Music Festivals Association held its annual Virtual Festival again this year, with our Bur Oak Music Ensembles being invited to participate by the Toronto Kiwanis Festival.

The Bur Oak Choir, under the direction of Ms. Lee came 2nd place in their Grade 9-12 Choral class.

The Bur Oak Grade 9 Concert Band, under the direction of Mr. Stokes came 1st place in their Grade 9-10 School Band class.

The Bur Oak Grade 10-12 Senior Wind Ensemble, again under the direction of Mr. Stokes also came 1st place in their Grade 9-12 School Band class.

We were contacted by the OMFA again this week informing us that with our bands receiving first place in their respective classes, the Bur Oak Music Programme will be receiving a scholarship from the festival.

Congratulations to Mr. Stokes, Mr. Lee, and all the performing Repertoire students in the program on this incredible achievement.
